- Creating supportive alignment is the ongoing act of balancing opposites. Alignment is not a goal, it is a journey (does that sound like a familiar statement?) It is possible to take any single directional alignment instruction too far, and over-arching the middle back to get rid of a dowager’s hump is a prime example of an exceedingly useful instruction taken too far, which can collapse the back ribs and reduce spaciousness in the back body even as we create spaciousness in the front.
