Best yoga class ever. Teachers were excellent.
Especially Gernot Huber. He is so helpful with proper positioning and listening to your body
December 30, 2019I have taken classes with Gernot 1on1, in studio, and on his online platform since he started it during covid.
I want to thank Gernot from all my heart... read more for your teachings and continuous support. You built my practice from the ground, you will remain at it's core, and you gave me the fondation that allowed me to approach yoga (and life) with more ease, joy, and awareness. You changed my life for the better in big ways and I will remain forever grateful for that.
I won't stop recommending you to whomever is interested in yoga.
In gratitude,matthew schaal

Every now and again one finds a sparkling diamond on the yoga scene - Gernot Huber is one of them! If you can find any way to take a class,... read more workshop, or online offering with this teacher, do yourself a big favor and jump at the chance. If you're looking to dive into the joy of breath, how to use your yoga practice to UNDO tension (not add to it with stressing over fancy poses), discover brilliant new ways of thinking about alignment, and finding ways to get rid of patterns that don't serve you? Then Gernot is a teacher you ought to be seriously looking into.
April 4, 2020tcooper17I practiced for several months with Gernot back in 2012, so when I came back to Chiang Mai in late-2018 I was keen to go and see him again. He's... read more a teacher who has stayed in my yoga practice for the six years in between visits - I learnt so much from him the first time I visited CM. Upon going to one of his classes again in September 2018 it was clear straight away that he was every bit as good as I remember.
Gernot has a very wonderful, joyful and knowledgable approach to yoga and has used the many teachings he's received over the years to create his own take on yoga - one which for me is just right. His approach to correct alignment is thorough but enjoyable, inviting you to learn what's right for your body. His approach to the breath, in particular to not compromising it and making sure you can still enjoy the breath, even when in a more strong asana, is so important and so useful to learn.
Gernot is not a teacher who will just jump at the deep end with asanas. He will give more challenging variations if people are able and wish, but he is keen on a "less is more" approach, making sure that people understand fully what they are doing, and giving them the knowledge and awareness to know their own edge within an asana.
Of Gernot's four weekly classes they are also different levels, which makes it open beginners and more advanced people. His use of weekly themes to explore different aspects of yoga, such as "The Art of Balance", "Do Less, Feel More", are a great way to really to get to grips with different aspects of yoga.
For me a great sign of a good yoga teacher is when I try a class for the first time and come away afterwards feeling I've really taken something from the class and have something new to put into my practice. This is how I feel after every one of Gernot's classes. I hope to visit Chiang Mai again soon and if I do I will spend as much time learning with Gernot. He's a genuine, knowledgable and really lovely teacher, and my practice is so much better for having gone to his classes. I cannot recommend him enough.
